Wymeswold are closing in on this season's League title after a 4-0 win away from home on the notoriously difficult Top House alley.

With neither side at their best it was ultimately a fairly comfortable night for the visitors despite it turning out to be a low scoring affair.

Once Wymeswold secured the first leg, the home side were unable to exert any pressure on the League leaders and it leaves Wymeswold requiring just seven points from their final three games to secure the title.

Pete Shaw top scored with 21 for Wymeswold with Chris Fowler's 22 the highlight for Top House.

Second placed Syston Cons B lost further ground on the leaders after a disappointing 2-2 draw away from home at lowly Sileby WMC. Sileby came into the game having lost their three previous fixtures 4-0 and soon found themselves 2-0 down here. However, they rallied well to take the 3rd leg before last man, Steve Taggart, secured the draw with 3 pins from the final ball of the night. This was only the second time this season that Syston posted no individual scores of 20+ and in both cases the opponent was Sileby WMC. Steve Taggart top scored for Sileby with 22. The result leaves Syston ten points adrift of the leaders and looking over their shoulders in their efforts to hang on to the runners-up position.

Syston Social Club eased to a 4-0 victory at home against Carington Arms and closed the gap on second placed Syston Cons B to just two points before their meeting in Matchday # 15. Social were in fine form on the night and heavily outscored their opponents with Knut Heinemann-Wooster providing the highlight for the home side with an excellent 27.

Queniborough Wanderers continued their excellent away form and have now lost just just one from six on the road this season after a 3-1 victory away to Barrow Cons. The visitors raced into a 2-0 lead before faltering in the 3rd leg to allow the home side back into the game. Barrow then had chances to share the points but fell agonisingly short of their target after the last man could not find the five pins required to level the scores on the night. Colin Pembleton top scored with 22 for the visitors and became just the third player to score more than one 9 this season.
