The annual event at Turnpost Farm in Wymeswold, which took place on Sunday, July 31, included a fun family dog show with classes ranging from best tail wagger to dog who looks most similar to owner.

There was also the chance to have a go at agility, tennis ball bobbing, a steeplechase and a doggie dash.

Ella Tonger, Dogs Trust Loughborough supporter relations officer and organiser of the event, said: “It was a fantastic day. More than 5,000 people came along and around 1,200 dogs entered the fun family dog show classes. The exact amount raised was £23,303,37 which is £10,000 more than last year.

“The weather was really kind to us which helped and we just want to say a huge thank you to everyone for their support. Every penny raised is spent on making sure we can give the dogs everything they need whilst they are with us waiting for their special someone to come along and give them a home.”
