Charity ball raises £20k for Leicestershire children's hospice

A charity ball has raised more than £20k for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, which supports families across Leicestershire and Rutland.

It was organised by regional homebuilder Allison Homes East Midlands at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Castle Donington with employees, sub-contractors and partners coming together for an evening of fundraising.

Guests first heard from Hannah Meisuria, corporate partnerships fundraiser at Rainbows, who shared more about the incredible difference the charity makes to the lives of children, young people and families in need of support.

Attendees then enjoyed a three-course meal before taking part in an exciting charity raffle and silent auction, with all proceeds going directly to Rainbows.

A host of donated prizes were on offer throughout the evening, with the final fundraising total reaching an impressive £20,435.

Hannah commented: “We are incredibly grateful to Allison Homes for raising such an amazing amount for Rainbows.

"We rely heavily on support like this as we only get around 15 per cent of funding from the government.

"This amount will have a real impact on the babies, children and young people that we care for.

"The kindness and generosity from everyone involved in the evening has a real impact on families across the East Midlands who are facing the unimaginable.”

Karl Edwards, managing director at Allison Homes East Midlands, said: “We are incredibly proud of the success of our region’s first-ever charity ball.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes or joined us on the evening, the generosity shown throughout the event genuinely exceeded our expectations.”
