Rainbows provides specialist palliative care to children with life-shortening or life-threatening conditions, offering support from its hospice in Loughborough, at families’ homes and in hospitals across the East Midlands. Each year, the charity supports around 1,000 babies, children and young people, helping them to live life as fully as they can.

The charity ball was held on Thursday 15th October, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Castle Donington, and saw Allison Homes East Midlands’ employees, subcontractors and partners come together for an evening of fundraising.

Guests first heard from Hannah Meisuria, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Rainbows, who shared more about the incredible difference the charity makes to lives of children, young people and families in need of support.

Attendees then enjoyed a three course meal before taking part in an exciting charity raffle and silent auction, with all proceeds going directly to Rainbows. A host of prizes were on offer throughout the evening, which were all kindly donated by the housebuilder’s partners, subcontractors and local businesses.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the final fundraising total reached £20,435.49, which will help Rainbows continue to provide essential care for children, young people and families across the East Midlands.

Hannah Meisuria, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Rainbows, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Allison Homes for raising such an amazing amount for Rainbows. We rely heavily on support like this as we only get around 15% of funding from the government. This amount will have a real impact on the babies, children and young people that we care for. The kindness and generosity from everyone involved in the evening has a real impact on families across the East Midlands who are facing the unimaginable.”

Karl Edwards, Managing Director at Allison Homes East Midlands, said: “We are incredibly proud of the success of our region’s first-ever charity ball. Raising such a fantastic amount for Rainbows means a great deal to all of us and is undoubtedly one of the highlights of our year.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated prizes or joined us on the evening, the generosity shown throughout the event genuinely exceeded our expectations. We take great pride in working with like-minded organisations, so seeing our partners and subcontractors come together to support such an important cause made the evening even more special.

“Rainbows does extremely important work supporting children with life-limiting and life-shortening conditions and we are honoured to play a part in its mission. We hope the funds raised through our charity ball will help Rainbows continue providing vital care and support to families when they need it most.”

Rainbows is the housebuilder’s chosen charity for all fundraising activities, with future initiatives already being planned to help raise as many funds as possible.
