Melton Gig Guide: January 29 to 31 - Melton Times

Sing the blues away again at the Noels Arms on Friday with house band Ceaux Fly. A small fee is charged at this gig in aid of Cancer Research.

The Sparkles and Joyride perform at The White Hart on Saturday. They blend a mix of genres including rock, pop and mowtown.

Saturday also sees The Detourz play at the Genny B. They are an established covers band who play hits spanning across seven decades. Their repertoire includes funk, soul, ska and rock hits.

Locally based band The Boutones are on a mission to entertain on Saturday night at the Noels Arms. Their aim is to bring something fresh and vintage to the party.

Ruthie Woods returns to The Grapes on Saturday. Her powerhouse vocals paired with her unique soulful tone leave a lasting impression and this is a gig you won’t forget in a hurry.

The Noels Arms will host Missing Mile on Sunday. A raggle-taggle trio who play a selection of Americana -infused tunes. Expect acoustics, sarcasm and hats.

Celtic band Govannen are taking over the stage at The Carington Arms in Ashby Folville, on Sunday evening. With jigs and reels they will play contemporary Irish songs. They are a four sometimes five piece band with a range of different instruments.

Help judge the funniest new comics from Jon Pearson’s recent comedy workshop at the Noels Arms on Sunday. A special Wax Comical night is in store ahead of Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival.

Jon hosts a night where the audience decide who is the funniest from his latest bunch of stand-ups. Closing will be Will Duggan - a good beard and great jokes.
