Shepshed 7: Stilton Striders pair net top 30 finishes

A small group of Stilton Striders travelled to the Shepshed 7-mile road race, a two-lap course through Garendon Park.

A total of 486 runners finished the race on a cold breezy morning, and first back for the Striders in an excellent 23rd place was Luke Eggleston in 43min 32secs.

He was followed not far behind in 27th by the in-form Darren Glover (43.57), while first lady back for the club, in 175th overall, was Vicki Lowe in an excellent 53.42.

David Hall finished 234th in 56.36 and the improving Lynda Harris was 307th in 1hr 01min 02secs.

* Racing elsewhere for the Striders was Stuart Shaw who took part in the inaugural Derby 10-mile race and finished in a brilliant 50th place in 1hr 5min 49secs.
