Time is running out to get discounted entry to a fundraising half-marathon hosted by Claire Lomas.

The early bird entry fee of £22 for club-affiliated runners and £25 for non-affiliated runners ends tomorrow (Friday). The cost for the half-marathon, which takes place on Sunday, June 18, then goes up to £25 and £29 respectively.

The Road2Recovery Half Marathon and Fun Runs were launched last year to raise money for the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation and their research into a cure for paralysis.

It was set up by mum-of-two Claire who was paralysed from the chest down in a horse riding accident in 2007, but has since completed the London Marathon, and most recently the Great North Run last year in a robotic suit. It is the first of three annual events in support of the foundation.

The half-marathon starts and finishes in the grounds of Eye Kettleby Lakes and takes in the back lanes through Great Dalby and towards Burrough-on-the-Hill.

There are also one-mile and 5km fun runs at Eye Kettleby which will host other family-orientated activities during the event.
