Lake View Fishery: Sutton makes golden start to Spring League

Carl Sutton qualified for the league final and took a golden peg bonus EMN-200324-171227002

Last Wednesday, Carl Sutton became the first qualifier for the two-day September final, landing 76lb 4oz from stream peg 17.

Sutton also won a £70 bonus for claiming top spot from the match’s golden peg.

Steve Haywood was the winner on river with 60lb 1oz, for third place overall.

Dave Harper was the clear winner at Saturday’s qualifier with a fine total weigh of 90lb from peg 12 on stream.

Jim Meakin was runner-up for the second match running, finishing some way behind the winner with 51lb from peg three.

Chris Hale, in fourth overall, took top weight on river, just shy of 43lb from peg 20.
