Cooke claims the first victory of Lake View Vets’ Winter League

John Cooke (peg 17) won the first Lake View Vets Winter League match on Saturday, claiming a haul of 31lbs on Serpent.

Mick Atherton (peg 10) was second with 26lbs.

On Canal, Cliff Adcock (peg 10) won the lake with just 29lbs.

Second on the lake was Steve Cuthbert (peg 30), but he was just ounces ahead of Roy Toulson (peg 27).

Steve had 27lbs whilst Roy was third with 26lbs.

Last Wednesday saw John Bayliss win the Alan Marshall Memorial Trophy on River peg 20 with 46lbs.

Second was Martin Quilter (Stream peg 1) with 41lbs.

Just 11ozs behind was Cliff Adcock (Stream peg 20).

Second place on River was Mark Bowles with 37lbs and the section winners were Pete Sisson (34lbs) and Roy Toulson (31lbs).

On Stream section winners were Mick Atherton (38lbs) and Gary Smith (29lbs) and on Lagoon the lake winner was Ian Donaldson (36lbs) followed by Ralph Marshall (34lbs) and section winners Brian Nicholls (22lbs) and John Cooke (16lbs).

Mick Atherton was the overall Summer League winner with Dirk Williams second and Martin Quilter third.
