The visitors fielded a squad of just 15 players compared to Stamford’s 46-strong outfit.

Melton played three straight games and showed improved work in the set piece in challenging games.

The visitors were defeated, but performed played very well against a well-resourced Stamford who had plenty of substitutions and could conserve energy.
