Melton Olympic Cycling Club: Haines nets top four spot at Leicester

Haines and clubmate Gary Ison travelled westward for an 10-mile time trial, hosted by Leicester Forest CC on Saturday.

Ison clocked 23mins 49secs, while Haines recorded the fourth quickest time of the day in 20.55.

* Melton Olympic’s midweek time trial league saw the riders take on the 10-mile course at Plungar last Wednesday.

Jamie Haines eased to the win in a time of 22min 38secs, more than two-and-a-half minutes clear of nearest rival Gary Ison (25.19).

Junior rider Kerrigan Robb was third-fastest in 26.01 ahead of Jim Sutherland (26.34), Ray Sells (26.52), John Atkin (27.17), Bryan Fenwick (27.48), Deborah Shaw (27.52), and Mark Saunders (27.54).
