Garthorpe point-to-point: Elite field for Quornt meeting
This year’s meeting has attracted a bumper entry of 122 horses, including some of the very best horses in the country, and the racecard has now been extended to eight races to accommodate as many as possible.
Waltham trainer Tommy Morgan brings several promising horses including Agent For Chaos which has already won twice this season.

Hide AdBarrowby-based trainer Antonia Bealby has also entered several of her pointers too, L’Eldorado and Dream Mistress to name just two, and Rutland is well represented by trainers Richard Walker, William Bevin and Johnny Weatherby who are looking to bring their best performers.
The highlight of the day’s racing is the Quorn Gold Cup which has attracted a wealth of talent. There are nine entries including Mr Madeit, Monsieur Jourdain, Panama Canal and the well-fancied Thetalkinghorse.
The Ladies’ Open race which follows will also showcase some of the best horses around including Palypso De Creek who defends an unbeaten run spanning two seasons.
In addition to an excellent day’s racing there will be a large number of trade stands, including food and drink, clothing, accessories, and even cars. There is a licensed bar as well as bookmakers and the Tote for those who wish to try their luck at picking a winner.

Hide AdThere will be live jazz throughout the afternoon, and in the evening popular local group Growling with the Badger will provide post-race entertainment.
