Finalists confirmed for Hamilton Tennis Club Championships
The top two from each section will play a three-set championship decider to see whose names will grace the club’s honours board.
Four pairs were chasing the two spots in the men’s doubles contest and it was reigning champions Joe Jackson and Andy Douglas who got through, along with Ben Catlin and Jimmi Cox.

Hide AdMany deuce games in the mixed competition made for a long evening, but Emily Harrison and Joe Jackson, and Penny Hallam with Will Harrison both won four out of five sets and will meet in the final.
Five pairs battled hard in the ladies’ doubles, with Tracy White and Sue Harrison winning all of their sets.
They will meet second-placed Margaret Heggs and Emily Harrison in the final.
There will be a new name on the men’s singles trophy after last year’s champion Joe Jackson narrowly lost out.

Hide AdBen Catlin won all of his sets, while Jimmi Cox and Joe Jackson each won three, but Jimmi goes through on games won.
In the ladies’ singles, last year’s champion Jessi Jackson won all of her sets and will face Emily Harrison in the final.
* On the league scene, Hamilton’s ladies’ first veterans team of Tracy White and Sue Corfield, along with Margaret Shufflebotham and Sue Harrison, lost 6-2 to Hinckley, Tracy and Sue winning both sets.
The ladies’ second veterans team of Nicky Herbert and Jan Jackson, and Chris Stevens with Maggie Saunders lost 5-3 to Oadby Granville.
Chris and Maggie won two sets and Nicky and Jan one.
