There was little between the teams after five ends with Syston holding a slender two-shot advantage, but they took control and forged ahead, extending their lead to 24 shots after 15 ends.
Melton closed the gap by seven shots over the final three ends and shared the rinks two apiece, but Syston were comfortable winners on aggregate.
* In the evening’s other match, Barnstone made a steady start against Belvoir Vale and built a 12-shot lead at the halfway stage.
Vale pushed hard to get back on terms, but Barnstone were too strong, stretching their lead and winning by 35 shots and on three of the four rinks.
