Spa day packages ahead of Black Friday that could save Christmas

Every year it can be a real struggle to find thoughtful and affordable gifts for those loved ones who deserve something a bit special come Christmas day.

Fortunately, help is at hand because deals site Wowcher has launched early Black Friday discounts and has reduced the cost of spa days at boutique hotels across the UK by as much as 60%, taking the price down to under £90.

Those who have taken advantage of the spa deal said that it made them “so relaxed” and described it as “great value for money”. It’s a deal that could save Christmas before it even begins.

The chance to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings with a Bannatyne Spa Day starts at £89 per person at a choice of dozens of venues all over the country.

The deal includes either one or two treatments each, lunch, a bottle of Prosecco and full use of spa and gym facilities, such as pools, saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms and relaxation areas.

There is also a £10 retail voucher per person.

Treatments include Swedish back, neck and shoulder massage, facial or full body seasonal scrub. According to Wowcher, the deal is valid at 38 Bannatyne Health Club and Spa venues, founded by Dragons’ Den star Duncan Bannatyne.

Red Letter Days, coincidentally founded by Rachel Elnaugh, another ex-Dragons’ Den star, also has spa day deals, this time with Champneys at any one of six venues for £259, reduced from £350.

Its deal involved a spa day and pampering experience for two available Monday to Thursday, all year round. You can find out more here. It offers presentation envelopes or gift boxes, as well as e-vouchers.

Wowcher also offers the option of e-voucher or, for Christmas gifts, a physical gift pack. The Wowcher spa day vouchers can be used until March 2027 and are designed for two people.

The deal has picked up plenty of positive reviews, one happy customer called Julie said: “Very good from start to finish. Lovely facial and good spa facilities. Lunch was fabulous. Very filling and nicely presented. All the Bannatynes staff were polite and courteous.”

Elena said: “What a fantastic spa day at Bannatyne gym. All staff were so welcoming and helpful. The facilities were great.

“Thoroughly enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The 30 min treatment was lovely. Only wish I’d upgraded to the 60 min one.”

On a less positive side, looking at the reviews, a couple of visitors said that they found the lunch menu slightly limited.
