The organiser of a charity vintage car and bike meet held in Scalford at the weekend said it still proved popular, despite the Bank Holiday rain.

Many of the scheduled attractions during the event at The Old Brickyard Tea Garden on Sunday had to be held inside because of poor weather.

Owner Anna Stasinska said: “We had a super fundraising day.

“Everyone came despite the rain, well everyone except all the vintage cars and bikes understandably, but we still had half a dozen old vehicles turn up.

“Luckily C&C Plants’ wonderful polytunnel saved the day.

“We had 15 super art and craft stalls, the Grantham Danserye dancers performed in Poldark period costumes, live music and singing and the charity tombola which raised £115 for Hope Against Cancer.”
