Air ambulance called to Melton estate after man in 80s suffers cardiac arrest

The Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) was called to the Tamar Road area of Melton on Sunday after a man suffered a cardiac arrest.

A DLRAA spokeswoman said: “The callout was to a man in his 80s. The air ambulance was mobile at 2.20pm and arrived on-scene at 2.32pm.

“We worked with East Midlands Ambulance Service and a local community first responder to treat the man, giving him advanced treatment. He was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary by land ambulance, with DLRAA’s doctor and critical care paramedic travelling in the land ambulance to assist.”

The man’s condition wasn’t known at the time of going to press.
