Supporters urge inspirational Eye Kettleby fundraiser Claire Lomas to '˜keep going' despite tough lead up to gruelling 10k race

Inspirational fundraiser Claire Lomas is being urging to '˜keep going' by her many supporters despite the tough lead up to her Vitality 10,000 challenge in London on Monday (May 30).

Mum-of-one Claire, of Eye Kettleby, was thrilled when organisers of the 10k race overturned a ban on her taking part because of her robotic suit.

Claire (36), who was paralysed from the chest down following a riding accident in 2007, has been allowed to take part as an unofficial entry.

She’ll be striding out to raise money and awareness for the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation (nsif) - which funds research into curing spinal injury.

With just days to go until her gruelling challenge Claire tweeted: “It’s been a bad lead up to the 10k - just not gone to plan” but her sheer determination and motivation has resonated with supporters who’ve sent her messages of support to ‘keep going’.

Claire is due to set off at 5am on Monday and hopes to finish by 5pm. Her husband Dan (41), their five-year-old daughter, Maisie, and other supporters will be there to cheer her on.

Claire has already smashed her fundraising target for the event more than nine times over, raising more than £9,300 so far and counting.
