Melton Mowbray club's swimmers boosted by new sponsorship deal

Club swimmers in Melton have welcomed a new sponsorship deal which will protect their starting blocks.

New blocks were installed recently at the town’s Waterfield Leisure Centre pool to enable members of Melton Mowbray Swimming Club (MMSC) to use safely when they are competing and training.

And Spire Leicester Hospital have now provided five bespoke covers to protect the blocks, which were ‘a significant investment’ by the club, and future proof their use for years to come.

Becky Fox, business development manager at the private hospital, recently visited the Dalby Road leisure centre to see the new covers and watch a training session involving MMSC’s dedicated swimmers.

She said: “We are delighted to support Melton Mowbray Swimming Club by sponsoring the swimming pool blocks with branded pool covers.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for us to contribute to Melton Mowbray’s swimming club and support the wider community.

“Swimming is such an important activity for people of all ages, and we are proud to support a local club that helps people stay active, build confidence, and enjoy the water.

"We hope this sponsorship makes a valuable difference to everyone who uses and enjoys the pool.”

MMSC chair, Emma Redwood, added: “We are extremely grateful to Spire Leicester Hospital for their generous support.

"The starting blocks were a significant investment for the club, and these bespoke covers will help protect them and prolong their useful life for many years.

“It is fantastic to have the support of a local organisation such as Spire Leicester Hospital, and we are particularly pleased that Becky was able to visit the club, see the covers in place and meet some of our swimmers.

"Support such as this makes a real difference to a community swimming club like ours.”

MMSC members have been training throughout the summer and are now looking forward to a busy new competitive season.

The club’s Internal club championship galas will take place on September 19 and 20 at Waterfield Leisure Centre, with a full programme of open meets and team galas planned over the coming months.

MMSC welcomes swimmers aged seven and over who have completed Stage 7 of Learn to Swim lessons and are interested in competitive swimming.
