Driver taken to hospital after car crashes into Melton house

Emergency services were scrambled in Melton this afternoon (Wednesday) after reports that a car had crashed into a house.

Two crews of firefighters attended the incident in Norfolk Drive along with an air ambulance, a road ambulance from EMAS and police officers.

Leicestershire Fire and Resecue Service said it was alerted to the collision at 1.30pm.

A spokesperson said: “One private motor vehicle collided with a parked car on a driveway and subsequently with the house.

“The driver got out of the vehicle prior to the arrival of the fire service and was conveyed to hospital via land ambulance.

“The occupants of the house sustained no injuries.”

A survey of the property was carried out and confirmed to be structurally sound.
