Moped rider injured in A46 collision
A moped rider was taken to hospital after her scooter was involved in a collision with a car on the A46 slip road for Thrussington this morning (Tuesday, August 2).
Two fire crews, police and an ambulance attended the incident which was reported to the fire service at 5.19am.
The female moped rider was given first aid by the fire service until the ambulance arrived. She was then taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary by land ambulance. Her injuries and condition were not known at the time of going to press.
One lane of the A46 was closed to allow emergency services to work at the scene safely. Highways officials were also called to the scene to deal with oil and fuel on the road.
