Exhibits impress judges at 91st Eaton horticultural show

More than 300 entries were on display at Eaton Horticultural Society's 91st annual show incorporating Eastwell and Goadby Marwood.

The event held at Eaton Village Hall featured 42 exhibitors across categories including flowers, vegetables and home crafts.

Other attractions on the day included a tombola and raffle.

Long standing secretary of Eaton Horticultural Society, Don Shields, said: “This is one of the few annual rural events that remains on the village calendar. The support we had this year was very good.

“Over 100 people attended and the judges were very impressed with the standard of entry.”

The main results were:

Best exhibit - floral arrangement Mrs J Shields, highest points - floral section Mr D Shields, second highest points - floral section Val Oswin.

Highest points - vegetable section Mr D Shields, second highest points - vegetable section Mrs R Allen.

Best exhibit - home crafts Mrs Aileen Deen and Mrs H Canham, highest points - homecrafts section Val Oswin, second highest points - home crafts section Mrs J Shields.
