Shoplifter jailed after stealing from Melton stores

Bianca Richards (24), of Robin Crescent, was sentenced to 12 weeks after being found guilty on Thursday at Leicester Magistrates’ Court of five counts of theft from stores.

PC Davey Rawlings, from Melton Police’s town centre beat, said: “Richards is a prolific shoplifter in the town and as recently as last month was convicted of shop theft and given a suspended sentence.

“Given this reoffending, she will now be serving time in prison.

“Crimes such as this have a significant impact on businesses so I am pleased the courts have taken the relevant action against Richards who committed such offences.”
