The 47-year-old is charged with an offence of causing harassment without violence.

Court documents state that Frisby, of Dalby Road, pursued a course of conduct amounting to harassment of Leigh Higgins, who serves as a councillor at Melton Borough Council.

Councillor Higgins, an independent member, has represented the Somerby ward since 2015.

He is also a former deputy leader of Melton Borough Council.

It is alleged that the defendant sent him ‘multiple messages’ of a ‘threatening nature’ over the Facebook Messenger network.

Frisby did not enter a plea when she appeared before the magistrates.

The hearing was adjourned until September 9, when Frisby is expected to enter a plea.
