Open day event to be held at Melton's Hamilton Tennis Club
Melton Mowbray’s Hamilton Lawn Tennis Club opens up its facilities on Saturday for its annual open day.
Children and adults, alike, are welcome to attend, as well as players and non-players, for a day of fun from 10am to 4pm at the club, which is off Sandy Lane.

The club’s has great reputation for tennis and the sport of pickleball, a racket sport played by two or four players who hit a hollow plastic ball over a net with a smooth-faced paddle.
All ages and levels of tennis and pickleball experience are welcome, with racquets, paddles and balls provided and guidance given throughout the day.
Visitors to the open day can relax in the clubhouse and enjoy a drink from the bar from noon – drinks and bar food will be served and there will be an opportunity to chat to players and club members.
You are also welcome to attend even if you don’t play – go along for a free cup of tea or coffee and a slice of home-baked cake.
There will be a membership special offer at the open day with full court membership (for both tennis and pickleball) available for £100 for the first year.
Full court membership gives the opportunity to join in several weekly organised sessions or to use the courts for privately organised games whenever they are available.
The club does not charge to use its court floodlights, which are available until 9.30pm. Members also get full access to the clubhouse and changing facilities.
Hamilton is running new starter/improver sessions on Saturdays throughout April and, for experienced players, the club has entered 11 teams in the Leicestershire County Doubles Leagues this summer.
As one of the largest pickleball clubs in the area, Hamilton was delighted to be named runners-up in the Club of the Year category at this year’s ‘Lets Get Moving Melton’ awards.
With multiple pickleball club sessions per week, including the popular Monday Club Night, there are many opportunities to play.
Alongside plenty of social play, the club’s pickleball teams take part in Leicestershire league tournaments and events, as well as inter-club games.
Hamilton also offers social memberships, which give full use of all the club’s social facilities, plus some court time, for £15 a year (£10 for the first year).
