Melton care home residents raise funds for local air ambulance missions
Residents at a Melton Mowbray care home have raised money for the local Air Ambulance with fundraising activities.
Wilton Manor Care Home, on the Leicester Road, supported the charity’s ‘Go Yellow Together’ with staff and residents dressing in bright clothing to reflect the colour of the campaign.

Guests enjoyed a special musical performance by the Melton U3A Generation Gap Orchestra, which created a lively atmosphere.
A bake sale, organised by residents and staff, further contributed to the fundraising efforts.
Residents then visited The Hanger , the Air Ambulance’s charity superstore, to personally present the funds raised – Gill, Janet, and Lesley, who live at the Sanders Senior Living Group home, played a particularly meaningful role in the initiative, as long-standing supporters of the charity.
On the fundraising efforts, Beth, customer relations manager at Wilton Manor, commented: “It was a wonderful day bringing everyone together for such an important cause.
"The Air Ambulance means a great deal to many of our residents, particularly Gill, Janet and Lesley, who regularly support the charity.
"Seeing the community come together, enjoy the music, and raise money was truly special, and we were proud to visit the charity shop afterwards to donate what we had raised.”
The Air Ambulance provides essential emergency medical care within the community, often making the difference between life and death.
The Hanger superstore, which is located on Scalford Road in the town, was voted The UK’s Favourite Charity Shop 2024 by The Charity Retail Association and it continues to provide vital funding for life-saving missions.
