A chance to convert your apples into juice at Melton community event
Melton residents are being invited to bring apples from their trees to a community event where they can convert them into bottles of delicious apple juice.
The annual Melton Apple Day takes place once again at the visitor centre at Melton Country Park, between 11am and 4pm on Saturday September 26.

It is hoped that local people will put their apples to good use rather than throwing them away – the Waste and Resources Action Programme estimate that around 4.4 million apples are binned every day in the UK.
The event is run by Melton Green Transition, in association with Melton BID, and the Sunny Skies cafe will also be open for snacks and drinks.
In a message to locals interested in attending, Corrie Cuthbertson, one of the organisers, said: “Start picking your apples now so they soften off and bring them along on the day.
“We will have a number of presses running to turn your haul into the sweetest and tastiest juice you can imagine.
“There will also be entertainment in the form of Morris dancing, folk music and kids activities and we have local businesses and charities attending too as well as food and drink stalls.”
Homemade apple-related products will be available for purchase on the day.
Attendees are asked to bring along an empty bottle or two to take their apple juice home in.
Family members are also invited to lend a hand manning a press if they want to.
