Rutland Sinfonia is looking ahead to an ambitious 2026/27 season following a highly successful 50th anniversary year, which saw packed audiences and sold-out performances.

The orchestra, founded in 1976, celebrated its golden jubilee with a series of memorable concerts and strong support from audiences across Rutland and beyond.

Chair Rachel Rayner said the orchestra was delighted to build on the success of the anniversary season.

“Celebrating 50 years of music-making was a remarkable milestone,” she said. “The support we received from audiences throughout the season was extraordinary, and we are excited to carry that energy forward.”

The new programme will feature a mix of popular masterpieces and lesser-known works, alongside performances from accomplished guest soloists.

The season opens on Saturday, September 26, with Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture and Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, featuring soloist Easher Austin, before concluding with Kodály’s lively Dances of Galánta.

With its next chapter now under way, Rutland Sinfonia is inviting both regular concertgoers and new audiences to join the orchestra for another season of live music.

Tickets are available from rutlandsinfonia.org.uk. With the previous season selling out, audiences are advised to book early.
