Melton Mowbray Comic Con returns this August

Family-friendly Comic Con set to bring cosplay, gaming, characters and traders to Melton Mowbray

Melton Mowbray is getting ready for a day of superheroes, cosplay and family fun as Bolt Events brings Melton Mowbray Comic Con back to The Stockyard on Saturday 22nd August 2026.

Following the fantastic support for the previous event, the family-run events company is excited to return to the town with another action-packed day designed to bring the local community together.

Melton Mowbray Comic Con will feature a wide variety of attractions for fans of all ages, including cosplay, retro gaming, movie and TV displays, characters, independent traders, artists and family entertainment.

Visitors are encouraged to come along in costume, although dressing up is completely optional. One of the highlights of the day will be Bolt Events’ popular costume competitions, giving everyone from tiny superheroes to experienced adult cosplayers the opportunity to take to the stage and show off their creations.

There will also be plenty to explore throughout the venue, with traders selling everything from collectibles and artwork to handmade gifts, toys and merchandise.

Bolt Events was created with the aim of making Comic Cons accessible and welcoming to families while bringing something different to local towns and communities.

Zoe Crofts, Director of Bolt Events, said: “We absolutely loved bringing Comic Con to Melton Mowbray and we can’t wait to come back. The support we received from the community was fantastic.

“Our events are very much about bringing people together. You don’t have to be a huge Comic Con fan to come along – we want families to be able to enjoy a fun and affordable day out together.

“One of my favourite parts is seeing children arrive dressed as their favourite character and watching their confidence grow as they take part in the costume competition. We also have adults who put an incredible amount of work into their costumes, so there really is something for everyone.”

The event will also support independent traders, creators and small businesses, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their work to visitors from Melton Mowbray and the surrounding area.

Bolt Events specialises in community-focused Comic Cons across the UK, with an emphasis on creating friendly, inclusive events where both dedicated fans and families attending their first convention feel welcome.

Zoe added: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supports our events. Every ticket purchased, every trader booked and every social media post shared helps us continue bringing these events into local communities.

“We hope Melton Mowbray will come out and support us again on 22nd August. We can’t wait to welcome everyone.”

Melton Mowbray Comic Con takes place on Saturday 22nd August 2026 at The Stockyard, Melton Mowbray.
