Swallowdale pupils sing in Young Voices concert

Budding singers from Swallowdale Primary School have taken part in Young Voices, singing with thousands of other children and guest singer Laura Wright.

Some 58 pupils from the school travelled to Birmingham Genting Arena at the NEC to perform in their concert, which is the world’s largest children’s choir.

The children had been rehearsing a number of medleys since the beginning of the autumn term.

Assistant headteacher, Mrs Gail Edwards, said: “Young Voices combines the power of singing together as one, with accompaniment from a wide range of musicians and artists, to create an amazing performance.

“This year we were fortunate to perform with the internationally acclaimed conductor David Lawrence and Laura Wright who had also performed at the opening ceremony of the Rugby World Cup. The experience was unforgettable.”
