Matt, who was paralysed from the neck down while training with the England Under-21s 10 years ago, was invited to take part in a Q & A session where he answered some candid questions posed by Year Five and Six children.

He told the children about his life before and after his accident and how The Matt Hampson Foundation was promoting the message “Get Busy Living!”

Matt, who lives in Cold Overton, is currently involved in a project to build a brand new state-of-the-art rehabilitation centre in Burrough-on-the-Hill, near Melton, for young people across the county injured in sport.

The Frisby CE Primary School teacher who organised Matt’s recent visit said: “The tag line Get Busy Living! sums up Matt’s attitude to disability and encourages us all to focus on how to make the best of our lives, whoever we are.

“Matt challenged the children to think of ways they could get busy living and promised to return to find out ways that they had embraced his message.”
