Soft launch event for new Padel centre to raise money for charity
Owners of a new Padel centre near Melton Mowbray are inviting players to have a go at the sport at a ‘soft launch’ this weekend.
Rally Yard has been built at a cost of around £850k on a vacant site at Asfordby Business Park and its facilities will be opened up to the public on Saturday for the first time.

Players will be asked to pay a minimum of £5 each with every penny donated to Rainbows Hospice for children and young people, which supports families across Leicestershire and Rutland.
There will also be a range of other activities being offered at the site, which is located just past Hilltop Farm, on the business park at the top of Welby Road.
Edward Allen, who is one of the co-founders, told the Melton Times: “In terms of the event this is the soft launch of Rally Yard ahead of our grand opening in September.
"We have five Padel courts – four doubles and one singles – and the soft launch is being held entirely in aid of Rainbows, a fantastic cause that does a huge amount of good work across the midlands.
"We’ll also have a well-stocked bar, a DJ and a live mural artist on the day.
“All court bookings are now full, but we’d encourage spectators and those interested in checking out the club to come down, enjoy the day and raise money for a great local charity.”
