Familiarity pays off for Quilter as he wins Lake View match

Martin Quilter found himself on a familiar peg on reef and took full advantage as the Lake View Vets met on Saturday.

Peg 15 was also golden peg so winning the match with 71lbs had an added bonus.

Fishing maggot it was not until the last hour that he found the good sized carp and with one taken on the whistle he kept ahead of the rest.

Second on the lake was Mark Bowles from peg 8 with 60lbs at the end.

Dirk Williams was third with 54lbs from peg 11.

On Marina it was a close match for the lake and it was Roy Toulson who came top with 50lbs from peg 25.

Steve Beckhurst won his section from peg 16 with 44lbs and Andy Parker just took the other section from peg 21 with 45lbs.

Last Wednesday, Mick Atherton chalked up yet another win on the jigger, taking the match by a clear margin.

On Serpent it was a repeat of the last match he fished there and his 75lbs took top spot.

Gary Smith, on peg 6, had asection win with 52lbs.

Third on the lake was Brian Holmes just behind with 51lbs from peg 10.

On Lagoon, Steve Fletcher on peg 4 won with 57lbs.

Martin Quilter on peg 21 was second on the lake with 29lbs and 28lbs was Ian Donaldson on peg 19 to take third.
