Hamilton Tennis Club collect county trophy treble

Representing the club were Margaret Roskell and Maggie Saunders who collected a cup and certificate for the ladies’ first team who won Group 3A.

There were also certificates for the mixed first team, who won group 4B, and the ladies’ seniors (vets) third team who won Group 6.

Guest speaker was former world number one doubles player Peter Fleming who won 52 titles, including seven grand slams, with partner John McEnroe.

* Would-be tennis players who turned up at Hamilton’s first Rusty Rackets event had a fun afternoon when they took to the courts with club members.

Melton Sports held a pop-up shop and refreshments and sports massages were available.

But all future Rusty Rackets events planned have been cancelled until restrictions placed on sport and gatherings are lifted.

* The club’s racket demo evening, scheduled for Thursday, April 2, has also been cancelled
