Victories for Asfordby's under 14s Eagles and Falcons

Asfordby U14 Eagles got their season off to a winning start with a 5-3 home win against Quorn Juniors in the Leicester & District Sunday Juniors League Division F.

The Eagles took a 2-0 lead into half time before a very quick second half start from Quorn saw them trailing 3-2.

A strong finish to the game saw Asfordby themselves score three times late into the second half to secure an opening day win.

After a very strong preseason, working with a new formation, it was what all the lads deserved for their efforts.

Asfordby U14 Falcons travelled to Lowdham Colts for their opening game of the season in the Nottingham YEL Division 9.

Trailing 3-2 at halftime they put in a fantastic second half team performance to win the game 6-3.

Having worked very hard over pre-season to regain fitness and sticking together over the last two years, suffering weekly losses, it was exactly what their perseverance and dedication deserved.

Things finally seemed to have clicked for them.
