A hat-trick for Mark Cowling helped Holwell Sports Reserves put bottom side Loughborough to the sword in the Senior League Championship.

Stan Logan also netted twice, while strikes from David Hazeldine, Will Kietley and Jayson Upton, and an own goal cemented a 9-1 win at Welby Road on Saturday.

The win moved Holwell up a place to 10th, and made it 21 goals in their last three home matches, although four straight away defeats have harmed their chances of a higher finish.

They continue their run-in next Tuesday at home to Oadby Town Reserves (kick-off 7.30pm).
