The above short video shows the moment a car crashes into a stream following a high-speed police chase through a public park.

Officers in an unmarked blue BMW pursued a suspected stolen white Audi for 10 minutes at around 11am on Saturday (4 May) morning.

A dramatic chase

The five second clip captures the end of the chase, with both cars crashing into a small river in Chinn Brook Park in Yardley Wood, West Midlands.

The blue BMW was left teetering on the edge of the embankment whilst the white Audi dramatically ended up in the ditch with its front doors open and windscreen wipers on.

Three men can been seen running from the white Audi once it comes to an abrupt stop.

After a foot chase, they were soon caught by police, who confirmed three people had been arrested.

An 18 year old man and two boys aged 17 year old and 16 year old were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.

Police humour

West Midlands Police Traffic tweeted close up and aerial images of the crash. They wrote, "We have three people in custody following a pursuit around Solihull and Yardley Wood vehicle reported stolen in a burglary a few hours earlier, great team work with National Police Air Serivce Birmingham and ResponseWMP.

"All three makes well known and wanted for similar crimes across West Midlands Police area.

"And yes, the blue car is my police vehicle.

"No damage caused and it’s already on route to its next job. #MeantToParkItThere #LikeAGlove"

No-one was injured following the pursuit and both vehicle have since been recovered.
