Class three pupils spent a day visiting owner Nigel Moon’s working Whissendine Windmill.

During their trip year five and six students created some windmill art collages using grain and seeds.

The children also visited the non-working Wymondham Windmill which is currently being restored thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

As part of the funding agreement local schools such as St Peter’s are able to see the restoration work take shape.

Whilst visiting the mill children did some sketching and wrote poems.

Next Monday, pupils will be working with a performance poet in school to perfect their work ready to be hung in Wymondham Windmill’s Interpretation Centre.
