Village Scout group celebrates funding boost
A village Scout group has been boosted by a donation of hundreds of pounds from a housebuilder.
The money will help Queniborough Scout Group with the renovation project at its scout hall and the purchase of a new mess tent for residential camping trips.

The funds came from David Wilson Homes East Midlands, which is building the Queen’s Manor development in the village.
The scout group provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where young people can develop practical skills, build confidence and enjoy new experiences through a varied programme of activities, including camping, teamwork challenges and community projects.

Richard Tassi, Cub Scout leader at Queniborough Scout Group, said: “We are incredibly grateful to David Wilson Homes for its generous contribution, which will go towards the purchase of a new all-weather camp shelter.
“Our annual camping trip is a truly special part of the Scouting experience, enjoyed by all members of the group, and having the right equipment makes all the difference, allowing us to create lasting memories in every kind of weather.
“We would like to thank David Wilson Homes for its kindness and support – it is sincerely appreciated.”
John Reddington, managing director at David Wilson Homes East Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to support Queniborough Scout Hall and the fantastic work it does for young people in the local area.
“Groups like this provide valuable opportunities for young people to learn new skills, build friendships and gain confidence.
“We hope our contribution helps support the next phase of the scout hall’s development and enhance the group’s camping experiences with a brand-new mess tent.”
