Melton neighbours each scoop a grand in Lottery winnings

The householders in Welby Lane scooped the windfall thanks to having a particularly lucky postcode.

The landed the winnings when LE13 0ST was announced as a Daily Prize winner with People’s Postcode Lottery on Saturday.

Judie McCourt, an ambassador the draw, said: “Congratulations to our winners, what brilliant news to hear on the weekend.

“I hope they enjoy spending the cash.”

A minimum of 32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to charities and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £600 million to date for thousands of good causes in Britain and beyond.

This draw was promoted on behalf of Barnardo’s, which has received over £5 million in funding from the lottery to help with its purpose to transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children through essential services, campaigning and research.
