Coronavirus: More than 50 county patients have died after testing positive
More than 50 patients who had tested positive for the coronavirus have now sadly passed away at hospitals in Leicestershire.
The update was given by University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust as the national figure for Covid-19 related deaths moved close to the 5.000 mark.
A trust spokesperson said: “Sadly, we can confirm that 51 patients being cared for at our hospitals, and who had tested positive for COVID-19, have died.
“Fourteen of those deaths were announced on Sunday April 5.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the families and friends of the patients at this very difficult and distressing time.”
