Bowlers prepare to take on another 24-hour challenge for Children In Need

Members of Melton & District Indoor Bowls Club are preparing for another gruelling challenge to raise money for the Children In Need charity.

The club is organising another 24-hour Bowlathon after last year’s inaugural event generated an impressive total of more than £5,000.

East Midlands Today presenter, Anne Davies, has again agreed to deliver the first bowl, at noon on Thursday November 12.

She will be supported by MP for Melton and Syston, Edgar Argar, and Councillor James Poland, who represents the Wreake Valley ward on Charnwood Borough Council.

Pudsey - the iconic mascot for Children In Need - recently visited the club and Melton’s McDonald’s restaurant to highlight this year’s fundraising drive for the charity.

Four teams of Melton bowlers played in rotation last year and other local clubs have been invited to take part this year.

Spectators and supporters are welcome to watch.
