The machine - an Electric Black Watt Boston bike - was taken from a property in Bickley Avenue earlier this month.

Officers say the e-bike, which was stolen overnight between Friday July 9 and the following day, has an old-fashioned design but it is a modern bicycle.

Pc Hannah Matts, the investigating officer, said: “I’d like to speak to anyone who has seen the e-bike for sale – or who has been offered the opportunity to buy an e-bike like the one pictured – to come forward.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who saw or heard anything unusual or suspicious in the area of Bickley Avenue between July 9 and 10.

“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant you think it may be, could help my investigation.”
