Staff praised as local care home provider celebrates national award
A local care home provider praised the ‘compassion and teamwork of our staff’ after it won national recognition for its work.
Bluebird Care Rushcliffe & Melton, which has operated for 12 years, was heralded for its commitment to staff wellbeing and high-quality care at the UK Homecare Association (UKHCA) Awards 2026.

The team was named winner of the Team Support Expertise Staff Wellbeing and Development Award at a glittering presentation event.
The awards celebrate organisations across the UK that demonstrate excellence in care delivery and in supporting their workforce.
Reflecting on the award win, Peter Bryan, registered manager at Bluebird Care Rushcliffe & Melton, said: “For me, this award is a reminder that when you genuinely invest in people, the quality of care naturally follows.
"When carers feel supported and valued, they bring their best selves to every visit, and that makes an enormous difference to the people we support.
“Care happens in people’s homes often when no one is watching.
"This award is a recognition of the quiet, compassionate moments our team delivers every day and reflects the incredible dedication, compassion and teamwork of our staff, who go above and beyond every day to support our customers and one another.
"A huge thank you to our amazing team, as well as our customers and their families, for their continued trust and support. We couldn’t have achieved this without them.”
Bluebird Care Rushcliffe & Melton is part of the national Bluebird Care network of more than 200 home care providers across the UK, delivering care that enables people to remain in the comfort of their own homes.
