Melton Gig Guide: May 6 to 10 - Melton Times

On Friday evening, the Noels Arms hosts Long Island as part of their Early Doors sessions.

Long Island are a Midlands based acoustic duo featuring Kerhys Farley and Cain Paisley. They play styles including rock, pop and funk.

Get set for Calder and Hartmann who perform at The White Hart on Friday. Their set comprises of a wide variety of pop, indie, rock and a large slice of funk tunes from across the decades.

Saturday sees Bonnylou perform at the Genny B. Bonnylou will draw from her rock, blues and reggae influences to deliver a powerful and energetic live performance.

The Likes, who have played on jumbo jets and in teepees are in town on Saturday, at the Noels Arms. The ever popular rap section will be in the set along with plenty of the anthems they play so well.

The Grapes is the venue to see StanZalone “I’m not Phil” on Saturday. “I’m not Phil” brings his tribute to the music of the legendary Phil Collins.

On the same bill, he returns as StanZalone, with his “The Best of Four Decades” show featuring classic hits from the 60s to the 90s.

Daryl Kirkland is set to gig at the Noels Arms on Sunday. He will play the best of the 50s and 60s “Jangletastic Beatles type frenzy.”

Expect a lively, entertaining set, great for singing along with and drinking plenty of ale.

The Saddle in Twyford plays host to One Man Two Tone on Sunday. Dance to the ska, mod and new wave sounds brought to life by Steve Wallbanks.

Tuesday sees Melton Folk Club gather in the Tiger Room at The Crown. This is a new venture that welcomes people of all ages and is hosted by Adrian Kerr. Visit www.facebook.com/meltonfolkclub/
