Richard said: “I first became involved with Dove Cottage via my daughter Harriet, who joined as a sixth form student volunteer. When Harriet went off to university, I stepped into her shoes and have been serving tea and cake to the good people of the Vale of Belvoir for over a year now.

“My first London to Brighton trek was in 2015, after which I vowed never to do it again!

“Clearly this vow did not last as I took part in the 100 kilometre walk again this year, raising about £300 for Dove. In 2015 I raised over £1,00 for the NSPCC.”
