Asfordby Valley family produces yet another track racing star
The Sharpe family of Asfordby Valley has produced racing drivers for the last 25 years and talented six-year-old Hudson is the latest to take to the track.
Hudson, who is also known as Hudson Hornet or Huddy, has just started kart racing, competing in his Bambino Comer kart in the Stretton Sprint Series this season before moving up to the UK Kart Series next year.

He was victorious in his first race back in September and last weekend he won the first heat before finishing with a second place trophy following a race-long battle.
His brother, Chase, who is 15, also started racing aged six and he is now driving in the MX5 Championship after showing great ability on the track.

The wider Sharpe family, racing under the banner of Sharpe Racing have raced cars throughout this century, competing in cars including classic MGs, Porsches and Austin A35s.
Hudson’s dad Henry, who is an experienced racer himself, told the Melton Times: “All my children have been around race tracks watching me and my family race since they were born so some of those motorsport fumes have obviously got into them and they all love it.
"Seeing Huddy out on track, learning how to kart, fully focused, is a lovely moment.
“With all of us racing in 2027, it’s going to be a busy year.”
The family would like to thank the following local sponsors, who make a huge difference to the family’s racing efforts – Parker’s Motor Factors, Digital Deadline, MCR Garage, Benn Simms Engineering, Mark Wright Motorsport and Drive Motor Retail.
