Police investigate livestock thefts from villages near Melton

Police are investigating after livestock was stolen from farmland in two separate villages near Melton.

Seven lambs were taken from a holding pen at Great Dalby and rustlers also stole four lambs and two ewes from a field in Little Dalby.

PCSO Tracey Biggs, who patrols Melton’s Rural South Beat, said: “These are very upsetting crimes and we take the theft of livestock from our farms very seriously.

“We have increased our patrols in the area and would ask that anyone whos sees anything suspicious to call us - we want to catch those responsible and stop this rural crime.

“If you have a farm in this vicinity or surrounding areas please check on your livestock and take extra precautions if you can.”
