Two-day Melton Beer Cider & Gin Festival begins this week

The first pints will be pulled at the annual two-day Melton Mowbray Beer, Cider & Gin Festival at 11am on Friday.

Organisers promise there will be more than 50 craft ales available, as well a broad selection of ciders and spirits at the event, which is at the Stockyard on the livestock market site.

Attendees can also enjoy plenty of live music during Friday and Saturday while vendors will also be serving up plenty of street food.

Round Corner Brewing’s tap room will be open as well for those who want to sample some of their award-winning ales.

The festival is held indoors so there is no need to worry if it rains over the two days.

Music acts include Govannen, who are one of the UK’s best Celtic bands, and vocalist Gareth Jenkins.

Opening hours for the event are 11am to midnight on both the Friday and Saturday.

Entry is £6 with CAMRA members getting in free.
