Folk rock concert and craft fair lined up in August at Melton's new community hall

Melton’s new community hall has a craft fair and a folk rock concert in its programme of events for August.

St John’s Hall, which opened in May next-door to the Catholic Church on Thorpe End, will be hosting its first ever craft fair on Saturday August 1, from 10am to 3pm.

Entry is free and there will be a wide variety of stalls from local makers and crafters, all selling handmade goods.

Frances Levett, from the Friends of St John’s, said: “It’s the ideal event for people to treat themselves or get an unusual and unique gift for a special person who is hard to buy for.

“The range of items is impressive: from crochet to clocks; from embroidery to jewellery.”

“We will be selling refreshments, so all visitors will have plenty of time to browse and think about their purchases.”

The folk rock concert takes place on Friday August 14, starting at 7pm.

Frances commented: “We are delighted and excited to have Adrian Kerr and Rob Thring performing for us.

"Adrian, who is well-known locally as the organiser of Melton Folk Festival, will be playing guitar and singing, while Rob Thring will accompany with cello and vocal harmonies."

Entry is £10 for the concert and there will be a raffle and refreshments.

Audience members are welcome to bring their own beer or wine if they wish to.

Tickets are available by emailing Frances at [email protected] or on the door on the night.
